Submerge Labs: On Ice Workshop – WAUHAUS

WAUHAUS member, choreographer Jarkko Partanen introduces you to the challenges of dancing in lube, where virtuosity is thrown out of the window.

Slipping, sliding, tumbling, majestically gliding through space. Welcome to a space where even standing up is difficult, working with the body needs constant re-configuration and virtuosity as you knew it is thrown out of the window.

W A U H A U S member, choreographer Jarkko Partanen introduces you to the slippery conditions their upcoming piece FLUIDS. In the workshop we will try out how it is to move in a space where friction is removed. While lube brings restriction to everyday actions we search what kind of new physicality it enables.

Workshop is open for movers, dancers, performers, students and professionals. Please bring your own towel, a swimsuit & clothes which can get wet.
