Casting Call for Performers to work with Award Winning International Artist Saeborg
Seeking eight performers to work with Award Winning International Artist Saeborg!
Submerge are looking for eight performers who are comfortable wearing restrictive latex to take part in the sensational UK premiere live performance of Pigpen, by award-winning Japanese artist Saeborg. The performance will take place at Submerge Festival on Saturday 19th March (Paid)
In Pigpen, a giant nursing mother pig bound for the production line gives birth to a litter of dancing rubber piglets. Both brutal and cartoonish, a frequent image for Saeborg is the image of breeding livestock and the artificially controlled processes of animal husbandry. Though the performers inside no longer look like human bodies, they act as a powerful metaphor for the way women’s bodies are often seen as sites of production.
