Join our Queer Theory For Queer Artists workshop!
Calling artists, producers, performers, and anyone who wants to understand how their artistic practice might use or already be using Queer Theory!
Professor Jackie Stacey and Dr Monica Pearl helping to demystify the terms and ideas that have influenced and fuelled queer art practice in a half-day workshop. Together they will help demystify the terms fueling queer theory, show how queer art practice often comes from and is informed by queer art and activism, and show how it has influenced and fuelled queer art practice.
Queer theory for queer artists is a workshop to explore ideas and empower participants to contextualise their work within academic and political frameworks. It is part of a new initiative that helps develop informal and accessible learning spaces for queer artists. It is not a class – no reading or prior acquaintance with theory of any kind is necessary.
